Showing aerial signage in front of an LED panel reduces the foot space, which is suitable for the installation of a large-scale aerial display for advertisement and exhibitions. Consequently, we have confirmed measured results are consistent with our analysis. Furthermore, we have developed a prototype for experimental confirmation of our optical system and measured of the luminance intensity of the aerial images. We have analytically clarified the optimal aperture ratio in the proposed optical system to increase the luminance of the aerial image. Because the apertured retro-reflector is placed on the LED panel, no moiré occurs between the apertures in the retro-reflector and black regions on the LED panel. To reduce the system volume, a beam splitter is placed parallelly in front of the LED panel covered with the retro-reflector. The aerial image formed with AIRR is visible over a wide viewing angle without using 3D glasses. Our optical system is based on aerial imaging by retro-reflection (AIRR). The retro-reflector has square apertures through which lights from the LED pixels pass. Reflector 3 uses an AirPlay connection to the Mac or PC so your devices don’t need to be cabled together, and it also works with Google Cast and Miracast, two “video over Wi-Fi” standards popular on Android devices.
One of the easiest ways to mirror multiple iOS devices to either a Mac or Windows PC is to use Reflector 3, a US$14.99 app from Squirrels, LLC. In today’s Tech 101, we’ll demonstrate one Mac and Windows app for doing this and mention a second alternative. While Apple’s QuickTime Player offers a simple way to record the screen of one iOS device on a Mac (see the end of this article), sometimes it’s necessary to show two or more iOS devices at a time on a Mac or PC screen. When teaching other people about iOS, demonstrating usage of various iOS devices, screencasting, or podcasting, it’s often useful to be able to mirror iOS devices to a Mac or PC so that the screens of those devices can be captured or broadcast.
